mandysaurus replied to your post: So what kinds of music did you guys grow up…

SAME. My dad actually plays “Keep Your Hands to Yourself” in his old people band.

AHAHAHAHA COOL. I actually still like a lot of Southern rock (which is NOT the same as country music, god no) songs, and that’s one of them. I’ve heard “Sweet Home Alabama” enough to make me hate it, though.

blinkpink:

A lot of cassette tapes of Gypsy Kings, Mecano and general 80’s Spanish pop.

Beatles. Queen. 70’s folk from my dad.

A lot of pop from the 60’s and 70’s, as per my mother’s eras and the local “oldies” station…

We definitely had Beatles and Queen in my house. Mom recently got a “Greatest Hits” of Queen CD and occasionally plays it on her radio. Not that I’m complaining.

Oh man, we listened to a weird mix. Early music I remember is like, Sinead O’Connor, Richard Thompson, Ozzy, Hendrix, Beatles, Traveling Willburies, Bonnie Rait, Eric Clapton, Sting…we always had a bunch of cds and tapes we’d listen to on car rides and while cleaning house. I’m sure I’m forgetting a lot. I got into ‘alternative’ pretty hard around 13.

Yeah, my dad loves Eric Clapton.
