So what kinds of music did you guys grow up listening to before your parents let you have your own radio (or occasional control of theirs)?

I grew up on typical 70’s and 80’s pop/rock and a lot of Southern rock. I didn’t get into any then-modern music like The Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls until I was nine.
